Apple Orchard and Kerita Tol are on the south coast of Gili Motong, also called Gili Mota, in the Molo Strait. The water is cold because of upwelling. Visibility is not always good, because the plankton is thick.
The bottom is covered in sea apples, round filter-feeding sea cucumbers, red and purple, with white or yellow stripes. They hold on and stretch their tentacles into the current. Because of that plankton, manta rays are often reported, and whale sharks are sometimes mentioned. Neither is guaranteed. The map lists the site to about 40 m. Entry is by boat. South Komodo water is often about 21–26°C.
