cns clock exposure time table

A calculator for the oxygen clock for one dive and one day.

Enter the oxygen pressure and how long you stay on the bottom. Then see what percent of the oxygen clock is used, for one dive and for the day.

Oxygen clock

What the words mean

CNS
CNS is the oxygen clock for the nervous system. One dive and one day each have a limit. The percent is how much of that limit is already used.
PPO2
PPO2 stands for partial pressure of oxygen. The number rises as you go deeper and as the mix gets richer.
Bottom time
How long you stay at that depth, in minutes. This is the number compared with the minute limit.
Single-dive limit
How many minutes are allowed at that PPO2 for one dive. The PPO2 is rounded up to the next higher row.
24-hour limit
How many minutes are allowed at that PPO2 across the whole day, when several dives are added together.
Percent
Bottom time divided by the minute limit, then multiplied by 100. The result is rounded to a whole number, as on the CNS clock card.

A planning aid, not a substitute for training or a dive computer.
