Kapal Indah Wreck, North Sulawesi

North Sulawesi

Kapal Indah is a cargo boat, about 45 m long. It stands upright on its keel, between 17 and 24 m. The map lists 20–30 m. The steel is covered in bryozoans, hydroids, and sponges, not dense coral. Entry is by boat. Current is usually light.

The nudibranchs on this deck include rare ones. On a large sponge on top of the deck there has been a giant frogfish waiting for the fish around it. After the ship, the dive can finish on the small coral patches toward shore.

Water in the strait is often 26–28°C. Do not enter the engine room. Near this site there is another, shallower and newer boat, between 4 and 14 m. That is not Kapal Indah.
