Manta Bay, Nusa Penida, Bali

Nusa Penida, Bali

Manta Bay is on the southwest of Nusa Penida, shallower than Manta Point. Reef manta rays often feed near the surface, so this site is also used for snorkelling when the sea allows it.

The depth is about 5–15 m. Visibility is often 10–20 m. The temperature is about 20–26°C. The surface can be choppy because the bay faces the open sea. Entry is by boat. Do not chase the rays. They more often come in on their own if the group stays still.
