Mauan, Komodo

Komodo

Mauan is in central Komodo. Guides sometimes call it a smaller Manta Point, because it has its own cleaning stations. The current is mild to moderate. The busy part is about 10–18 m, inside a 5–25 m range.

Mantas visit, but the notes for this site are more careful than for Karang Makassar: do not expect a train of rays. Turtles are reliable. Whitetip reef sharks patrol the shallows. Entry is by boat.
