Melasti is a sand slope in Amed used for macro. The part people come for is shallow, about 3–12 m. This site map also lists depth to about 30 m, so a deeper route exists, but the critters are on the shallow sand.
Surf can be there. When the surf is up, visibility often drops. Entry is by boat. The dive is slow, close to the bottom, without stirring the sand.

For macro photos, use a macro lens and a focus light, and do not stir the sand.
Animals in the sand
This site is for the small animals that hide in the sand. The names change from day to day, so look at what is there, and do not expect one particular animal.
An animal on this list is not guaranteed on every dive.
