Menjangan Pos 2, Menjangan and Pemuteran, Bali

Menjangan and Pemuteran, Bali

Pos 2 is at the southeast corner of Menjangan Island, at a break in the reef that lets boats reach a sandy shore and a small jetty. A wall surrounds this end of the island, from a couple of metres to more than 50 m, almost straight down.

The large sea fans start in the shallows and continue deep. Fusiliers and surgeonfish patrol the wall. Batfish often follow divers. Angelfish, coral trout, nudibranchs, shrimp, trevally, sharks, barracuda, lionfish, parrotfish, and scorpionfish are here too. On a calm day the shallow part suits newer divers. When the current runs, this becomes a drift. Go by boat from northwest Bali or from Bangsring.
