This calculator works out the oxygen dose for the lungs. The number goes up when the oxygen pressure is higher, or when you stay there longer.

What the words mean
- OTU
- OTU stands for oxygen toxicity unit, the oxygen dose for the lungs. It comes from the PPO2 and the time you stay there. This dose builds slowly, apart from the CNS clock.
- PPO2
- PPO2 stands for partial pressure of oxygen. This table has rows from 0.5 to 2.0.
- Per minute
- The number in the table for that PPO2 row. The total dose is this number times the minutes.
- Minutes
- How long you stay at that PPO2, in minutes.
- PPO2 row
- The PPO2 is rounded up to the next higher row. 1.35 uses the 1.4 row.
- Ring scale
- The ring fills at 300 OTU. This tool uses 300 as the pulmonary dose limit for one day.
