Shotgun, Komodo

Komodo

Shotgun is the narrow channel between Gili Lawa Laut and Gili Lawa Darat. On the flood, the current speeds up and carries divers through the channel. The depth is about 10–30 m. A usual profile starts shallow in the mouth, crosses at 15–20 m, then exits.

Reef sharks, trevally, tuna, and barracuda are in the current. Manta rays often use this channel. This is not a place to learn current. Entry is by boat, and only when the tidal window fits.
