Siaba Besar, often called Turtle City, is in central Komodo. The bay is sheltered and has almost no current. This is the calm dive: turtles rest on the sand, graze the reef, and surface close to the boat.
The depth is about 5–18 m. Entry is by boat. Green and hawksbill turtles are here in a genuinely tight number, not one or two. Rays, nudibranchs, and sometimes a pygmy seahorse are on the coral. Do not touch a turtle.
