Tanjung Jepun, Padangbai, Bali

Padangbai, Bali

Tanjung Jepun is on the west coast of Amuk Bay, northeast of the Blue Lagoon. The centre is an artificial reef: a small boat scuttled in 2008, at about 18 m, and statues on the bottom. Sand and rubble start around 5 m, then a slope. There is usually no current.

Blue-spotted stingrays are more reliable here than at many other Bali sites. Frogfish are here, and at night the site is good for macro. On the artificial reef, around 12–16 m, there are lionfish, scorpionfish, cuttlefish, batfish, nudibranchs, and seahorses. The map lists about 5–20 m. Entry is by boat. Do not go inside the wreck.
