Tatawa Besar is a slope in central Komodo, calmer than Tatawa Kecil and Batu Bolong. A usual drift starts at the northwest tip and runs along the west side at 15–20 m. There is a field of orange soft coral.
The depth is about 5–25 m, and the life is busiest at 10–20 m. Turtles are reliable. Reef sharks and mantas sometimes pass. Entry is by boat. When the current on the neighbouring rock is too strong, this site is often the replacement.
